Email Notification
As mentioned elsewhere in this
document, bloggers have an option of receiving email notification any
time a new blog is posted (by another author in your group, for
instance), or when anyone posts a comment to a blog you have
written. To receive such notifications by email, follow this
procedure.
(Note: If you are a user with Impersonation privileges - see Group Blogging Help - be sure you are not
currently impersonating an author who does not want to receive email
notifications!)
First, make
sure that you are on the blog page that you want to be notified about.
(In most cases, this will be your own blog,
but there's nothing to stop you from requesting notification about any
or all of the blogs on our site.)
In the right-hand sidebar, locate the
"Email Alerts" link
in the This Blog group:
Note: If you are not currently logged in,
you will not see the "Email Alerts" link. Log in and
return to the blog page.
| |
The Blog Email
Subscriptions page for the current
blog will load. Select the radio button for the level of
notification you wish to receive:

| |
Click the Update Blog Settings button:

| |
Counter-intuitively,
you are only half done.
You have subscribed to blog email notifications, but you may not have
identified yourself as a willing recipient of emails. By default,
our system assumes that all users don't
want to receive emails. This preference is stored in your user
profile.
At the top,
right of the page, click your Username:
(Note: As mentioned, if you are a user with Impersonation
privileges, be sure that you are not logged in as an author who doesn't
want to receive email notificaitons.)

Your user
profile is loaded into the Profile
Editor. Click the Personal
tab:

On the Personal Tab, locate the Email Options section toward the
middle of the page. Click Edit
as shown:

Mark all three checkboxes:
Then click
Save
Changes:

You are now
fully configured to receive email notifications of any posts or
comments to your blog.
