A Question of Payback: Reparations for Slavery

I need to narrow down my research paper topic of "Reparations for African Americans" into a thesis statement for a ten page paper. Does anyone have any suggestions??

RE: A Question of Payback: Reparations for Slavery

Given the current situation of our government, that is to say the deficit, could it be possible to pay for reparations or is it just a detriment to our society. How will the next generation pay for the War, and the reparations?

RE: A Question of Payback: Reparations for Slavery

Reparations could make sense, but that only depends on how the reparations are made. Are you assuming the reparations are cash payments to the victims families, or that the reparations are helping the communities of people in poverty?

i think that reparations wont solve the root of the problem; racism and poverty.

RE: A Question of Payback: Reparations for Slavery

I don't think we should pay the african american population directly, but should continue to improve and support affirmitive action and other positive programs to better our society.

RE: A Question of Payback: Reparations for Slavery

Reparations might be logical because so many people were hurt by the 350 years African Americans worked with out pay
