    The R.A.V.E. Act

i was listening to the program on my lunch hour today and just wanted to just make this comment: the gentleman from the DEA has no right to tell me what to do with my body or anyone else. If I want to take X and "Projectile vomit", as he puts it, then thats my decision. I have been to RAVES and never witnessed the type of behavior that he mentioned, as a matter fact, the type of behavior he described, i have only seen in bars, where it is legal to drink. i believe bars are more dangerous to women then RAVES, mainly because the "date-rape" drugs are put in alcohol, not water, and as he said, there is no alcohol at RAVES. I also don't believe that pot and alcohol are "date-rape" drugs. i have never witnessed anyone passing out from pot. The man needs to get his facts straight, he needs to see that there are worse problems out there than a RAVE.

    RE: The R.A.V.E. Act

just an add-on to my previous message, referring to the RAVE signs and posters that are causing such a fuss with the use of E and X...if they are going to shut down RAVES becuase of those signs, then they need to shut down concerts for the "Rolling Stones" "The Dooby Brothers" "The Grateful Dead" all of those could have "sinful" meanings also, like the E and the X...they refer to drugs too if the DEA is going to use names and signs as excuses....

    RE: The R.A.V.E. Act

Adults are the poblem with everything in our society. They have the power, the money, they own houses, pay the rent or mortgage, control the family bank account, run businesses, buy most of the big tickets items, occupy political offices, manage employees, pay the car insurance, teach our young, run our cities and governments, enforce our laws, pay the majority of taxes, advance technology, and yet they cannot control the offspring they create!

If adults want to have happier teen society, then they must "involve" themselves into the lives of their children from a young age. Build trust and love by doing things with your kids and help them realize their dreams. Teens escape to events like this because teens are unhappy with their own home environment. They search for love and attention from somewhere else. Teens are actually disgusted with the lack of attention from their own parents. Parents are adults, yet they cannot figure out how to raise a happier teen society. Could it be that adults are too busy doing other things? Our society needs to "re-tool" and figure out a way to reduce the 40 hour work week, and increase family time. I suggest a 6 hour work day and the 30 hour wrok week, for the sanity of our society and our families.

    RE: The R.A.V.E. Act

Oh... one more thing. It's an unfortunate fact, but some adults think their teens can do no wrong and they let them do anything! It's these "special teens" that MTV, Hollywood, and other media exploitive entites love. They use these special teens to pressure other teens into doing things they really shouldn't be doing. But remember, MTV, Hollywood, and these other media exploitive entites are run by.... ADULTS. It's ironic how one set of adults ignores their kids, while the other set of adults... exploits these kids.

    RE: The R.A.V.E. Act

I agree with Trish. I am an educated adult and if I choose to use drugs then I will and no "law" that restricts gatherings are going to hinder me. I routinely am prescribed medication that impairs my judgement and behavior and I take it with no hesitation. I don't attend raves anymore but I choose to partake and attend work, bookstores, grocery stores etc to enjoy my "inebriation". You never know, you could be standing next to me right now! You had better be careful-you might get my "cooties"!!!! The government's and your scare tactics don't scare me! Terrance was quite a tool that reminded me of a Nazi soldier. Heh!...Control your own kids and leave the parenting of the other children to their parents/guardians. Keep your nose out of other peoples' private business. Just wait...drugs will be decriminalized eventually and I, for one, would like to be there when all those right-wing troglodytes (like Terrance) drop a load in response to the "decline of American Society)!!!!!Cheers!

    Re: RE: The R.A.V.E. Act

I believe you're right. Everyone should keep there nose out of other peoples' private business. I believe that everyone knows what's best for him. If for example someone wants to take plavix why should that bother me or someone else? Is his choice he knows why he took that decision.
