Sex education is best left to the medical and nursing professions. When one third or more of live births in this nation are to females who are not married, all of our present methods of teaching children about sex and the responsibility that goes with any related act are grossly inadequate. When this stops becoming a political football and ends up being a health issue, then we may find the rate of live births rising in responsible adults and not before. I speak as a retired nurse and alcohol/drug counselor who learned the hard way personally that we graduate children from all level of schools in this nation unprepared for what is the most basic of social interaction.
